Creating simple compositing during shooting
What is green screen shooting? It is a shooting technique in which green walls and cloth are placed in the background of people, etc., and green parts are transparent using chromakey synthesis. Today, it has become so popular that even people who are not interested in video production can understand it. However, the term "green screen" does not seem to be widely used overseas. In the United States, the home of movies, green screens are so standard that movies, dramas, and commercials do not use green screens, but instead of using the word green screens, they are called "green screens."
By the way, in American slang, greenish dollar bills are called greenbacks.
In making this article, I thought that it would be a short shooting at the beginning when I wrote the storyboard in advance. However, when it came time to actually shoot, she realized that it was more difficult than she had expected. I have experienced chromakey compositing with a green screen many times, but in all the shots I have taken so far, I have placed the green behind the subject, and this is the first time I have placed the green in front of the subject like this.
The size of the model projected in the prop's laptop computer, and the length of the hand stretched from the screen to the trackpad, these conditions are quite severe, and the length of the hand depending on the angle is only in my imagination. It is almost impossible to calculate the accuracy error. But the problem wasn't that I couldn't calculate the error, but that I didn't realize that I couldn't. Luckily, I was able to continue shooting while checking the chromakey editing on the laptop that was also used as a prop, but I would like you to make a shooting plan with plenty of time when using a green screen.

I took a still image of the laptop, which was used as the background material for the composition. For the material of the person jumping out of the screen, I laid out a green screen on the table and shot it while simply compositing it with editing software on the spot.
[STEP 1] Synthesize the shot materials
① Press the icon at the bottom of the project panel to create a "new composition". I gave it a name and set the resolution and time.
(2) Capture a still image of the background (picture of the PC screen). The resolution of the shooting data is larger than FHD, so it cannot fit on the screen.
③Reduce the “Scale” and drag and drop the layer to match the “Position” where you like.
④ Next, capture the image of the desktop screen.
⑤Apply "Effect" > "Distortion" > "Corner Pin" on the desktop screen. Align the desktop image to the laptop screen by dragging the corner pin.
⑥ Read the image in the video player and align it with the "corner pin" in the same way. The sides were left open so that the desktop background could be seen.
(7) Import the video of "Jumping out" shot using a green screen, and match the time indicator to the point where she stretched out her hand in the video.
⑧ Apply "Effect" > "Keylight" > "Keylight (1.2)".
⑨ Select the eyedropper of "Screen Color" from "Keylight (1.2)" of "Effect Control" and click the green of the green screen shooting, the green screen will be removed and the PC layer below will be transparent. .
(10) Lower the opacity of the “pop-up girl” layer and adjust the position and scale with respect to the background.
(11) Select the pen tool and cut out the extra part with a mask. Leave the part where there was green as above without cutting it.
(12) When you finish enclosing the mask with the pen tool, the area you want to cut out and the opposite side will be cut out. If you set the drawing mode of the mask to "Subtract", the clipped area will be reversed.
(13) Click the icon at the bottom of the viewer to hide the mask path.
⑭ Return the opacity of the “pop-up girl” layer to 100%.
[STEP 2] Correcting missing parts of chromakey beautifully
(1) Since the chroma key is rough, select "Effect Control" Fine-tune the parameters of Keylight (1.2).
②When I increased the value of "Screen Gain", the noise under the monitor disappeared.
When I changed the value of ③ "Screen Matte" > "Clip White", the noise in the shadow of the chest was softened.
(4) I adjusted the "Screen Softness" and "Screen Despot" of "Screen Matte" to blur the outline of the person.
