Introducing an iPad app that expands the functionality of Roland video switchers
Roland has started distributing the iPad application "AeroCaster Switcher" that can add a wireless video input function from a smartphone or tablet to the company's video equipment. It can be downloaded for free from Apple's App Store.
"AeroCaster Switcher" is an iPad app that allows you to send video sources such as smartphone and tablet cameras to the camera input of a Roland video switcher. Connect the iPad with "AeroCaster Switcher" installed to the HDMI input of the Roland video switcher and receive wireless camera images from your smartphone or tablet (you need to install the "AeroCaster Camera" app released at the same time on the device you are using). In addition to switching and compositing, you can also share the screen of your computer or mobile device.
Up to 4 iOS/Android smartphones and tablets installed with the above-mentioned "AeroCaster Camera" can be wirelessly connected (an Android application is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2022). Camera footage from the iPad itself can also be added, allowing you to select from a total of five video sources. The "AeroCaster Switcher" application is also equipped with video effect functions such as video synthesis and still image addition, which are installed in Roland video switchers.
The compatible video switchers and A/V streaming mixers are as follows (as of September 2021).
When using, in addition to the above devices, iPad with "AeroCaster Switcher" installed, HDMI adapter for Apple iPad, smartphone or tablet with "AeroCaster Camera" installed, high-speed and stable Wi-Fi network ( "AeroCaster Switcher" automatically adjusts image quality based on Wi-Fi connection speed). Also, if you want to share your computer screen, you need a computer with Google Chrome installed and an internet connection.
