I want to change the name and emoji set in AirTag

You can use "AirTag" by putting it in your belongings or attaching it with a key chain. If you lose something with AirTag attached, you can check the location information with the "Find My iPhone" app installed on your iPhone etc. and search for it. With AirTag, you can change the name and pictogram entered at the time of initial setting later. Settings are made from the "Search" app.

How to change the AirTag name / emoji

1 Launch the "Search" app

Tap the "Search" app icon

2 Tap "Find your belongings"

Tap "Find your belongings" at the bottom of the screen

3 Tap the name of the item you want to change, then "Rename the item".

Tap the display of the belongings you want to rename

Here, as an example, we will change the name and pictogram of the "credit card" pictogram that is displayed as "wallet".

The details screen of your belongings will be displayed.

Swipe up on the screen

The item "Rename your belongings" will be displayed, so tap here.

4 Select Custom Name from the list

A list of AirTag names is displayed

Swipe up on the screen and select "Custom Name" at the bottom

5 Enter a new name and pictogram

If you select "Custom Name", the emoji input screen will be displayed first.

Search for the desired emoji by genre or enter the word for the emoji in the search bar

Tap the emoji you want to set

The selected emoji has been set

Tap "Name of belongings" on the right side of the emoji

Enter the name you want to set anew and tap "Done" at the top right of the screen.

Tap the "x" mark to close the details screen

The name and emoji of your belongings have been changed, and the setting is complete.
