現在、エンタメ業界では、「クリエイターエコノミー」と言われるキーワードが注目されています。これは、SNSや動画配信などのプラットフォームを通じて発信された投稿文やゲーム実況動画、アイドルの音楽ライブ配信などのコンテンツに直接ユーザーが対価を支払う経済圏を指します。 クリエイターエコノミーの特徴は、プロでもアマチュアでも同等にプラットフォームを介して収益を得られることです。また、ユーザー自身が発信者や、コミュニティのオーガナイザーになるという点も特徴です（図表1）。 日本でも2021年7月8日に、YouTuberマネジメントの先駆けであるUUUM（ウーム）や、BASE、noteといった企業からなるクリエイターエコノミー協会が発足し、クリエイティブ活動の促進に取り組むことを発表しました。 そうしたクリエイターエコノミーを成り立たせるために不可欠なのが、クリエイターが利用する配信プラットフォームでの「投げ銭」の仕組みです。ここからは、投げ銭ビジネスの特徴や可能性を解説していきます。Why people are attracted to "money"
「投げ銭」とは、インターネットのライブ配信サービスなどを視聴する際、ライブのチケット購入とは別に、配信主にチップのようにオンラインで送金をするシステムのことです。 主なサービスとして、2011年にアメリカでサービスを開始したゲーム実況サイトの「Twitch」や、日本ではアイドルのストリーミングライブなどが多い「SHOWROOM」、「17LIVE（ワンセブンライブ）」などがあります。送金の方法は、プラットフォームで販売しているアイテム（花束や宝石、タワーなど）をオンラインで購入したり、チャット欄にコメントを書き込む際に金額を指定して支払うなどさまざまです。 その代表的な事例が、YouTubeのライブ配信時の「スーパーチャット」という機能です。スーパーチャットの登場により、ファンが配信者に対して投げ銭をする新しい楽しみ方が始まりました。 「スーパーチャット」は、料金を支払うことで、配信中の動画の横に表示されるチャット欄に、自ら投稿したコメントに色を付けて目立たせたり、長い時間上部に配置させることができる機能です。色によって、投稿者がいくら配信者に投げ銭をしたのかが可視化されるシステムで、最も安い料金は100円からとなっています。最も高いのはコメントが赤色になる5万円で、投稿したコメントがチャット画面の目立つ位置に最大5時間固定されます。 スーパーチャットでは、リアルタイムで誰が投げ銭をしたのかが分かるため、配信者がオーディエンスの名前を呼んだり、メッセージを読んでくれたりします。このようにお金を支払う側にとっては、応援している配信者とのコミュニケーションが最大の魅力になります。 それ以外にも「ほかのファンに自分がたくさん投げ銭したのを見せたい」という動機があるほか、筆者が大学生から聞いて驚いた理由には「応援しているアーティストに少しでも多くお金が入る方法を考えると、中抜きされるCDやグッズの購入より、投げ銭が一番良い」という意見もありました。もちろん、Youtubeや17LIVEも手数料をとられますが、アーティストへの還元率の高さから「投げ銭」のプラットフォームを通じた応援の仕方が選ばれていると考えられます。関連記事▲ Close ▼ All display
