The iPhone browser has evolved! 10 new features in Safari
Apple's Safari browser hasn't changed much in the last few years.
Because the basic design language has been the same since iOS 7.
But with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, Safari got a major redesign.
Added new gestures such as "tab bar", "tab group", "extension support" at the bottom of the screen.
If you have just updated to iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, please refer to the tips for using the new features.

Let's try Safari's "extensions"
First, let's start with the hidden surprises.
The new Safari supports web extensions.
However, extensions are provided in the form of apps.
And the app must be enabled in Settings. And before you can start using it, you have to go out of your way to allow access to every website.
Don't let that put you off. There are some really cool extensions out there, like apps that block AMP (a feature that makes websites load faster) and apps that turn websites into dark mode.
This article details the Safari extensions you can use.
After installing the extension, open Settings and tap Safari > Extensions. On this screen, select the function extension you want to use and activate the application with the button at the top of the screen.
On the iPhone, extensions can be found by pressing the "Aa" icon on the left of the address bar.
On your iPad, you'll see a new 'extension icon (like a puzzle piece)' in the address bar.
New Shortcut Gestures
In Safari on iPhone, the entire browsing interface has been moved to the bottom of the screen.
It may seem difficult at first, but we recommend that you take some time to get used to it.
Once you get used to it, you can use the new gestures to navigate your browsing smoothly. Here are a few gestures we encourage you to try.
If you don't like the address bar at the bottom, move it back up
Don't you like having the address bar at the bottom of your screen?
Then you can go back up. Tap "Aa" in the address bar and select "Show address bar above".
Organize your browsing environment with tab groups
Safari followed Google Chrome with a tab group feature.
Tab Group is, as the name suggests, a function that allows you to classify tabs into groups. Groups can be named. It's also automatically synced between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
On your iPhone, tap the "tab icon" with overlapping squares to display a list of tabs.
Select "XX tabs" at the bottom of the screen.
This will bring up a menu that allows you to create a new tab group using all open tabs (you can also create an empty tab group). On iPad, you can do the same thing using Sidebar.

Press and hold the address bar to quickly open the menu
Another great feature is hidden in the address bar at the bottom of the screen. A long press on the address bar will quickly open the menu.
From there, you can perform voice searches, copy URLs, move open pages to different tab groups, and more.
Easily open new private tabs, switch tab groups, close all tabs, etc.
Due to Safari's redesign, "Private Browsing Mode" has been completely forgotten. I was.
This mode is now hidden in the tabs menu, but there is a way to instantly open a new private tab.
Simply press and hold the tab icon and select New Private Tab.
Actually, this "tab icon" has quite a lot of useful functions.
From this icon, you can close all tabs at once or switch the displayed tab group.
Disable "Adjust Tint" for Websites
Apple wants to make the website feel like an app, so you can set "Adjust Tint" to match the colors of the website. Enabled by default.
If the website supports that feature, the tab color will now match the color of the website.
While it looks great, it can be an eyesore when browsing between several websites.
This feature can be disabled from Settings > Safari > Allow Websites to Tint.
Easily copy links from all open tabs
Would you like to share or save all the links you have open?
Finally, Safari makes it easy. On iPhone, press the "tab icon" to list tabs, then use the dropdown in the middle of the toolbar to open the "tab group".
Tap "Edit" on the top left and press the "Menu button (three dots)" next to the tab group you want to copy the link to. Tap "Copy Link" and you're done.
Customizing the New Start Page
The new Start Page allows you to choose a background image and customize the display content.
On the Start Page, scroll down and press Edit.
Here you can enable or disable the item depending on whether you want to display it or not. At the bottom, you can choose one of the pre-made backgrounds.
You can also add your own images.
"Text recognition display" can be used on any screen of Safari
"Text recognition display" is probably one of the best new features in iOS15.
You can copy text from any image and recognize it as text. You can also use it from camera view. And of course it works in Safari too.
When you have an image open in Safari, press and hold an image that contains text, then tap Show Text.
You will then be able to select, copy and translate any text in the image.
