"Definitely necessary for iPhones with large displays" This user seems to go out of their way to use a Samsung device to use split view.
Some people have the exact opposite opinion. Even with the Pro Max series, the iPhone's screen size is too small to use split view, and it's easier to work by switching between two apps normally.
