On Windows notebook PCs and Chromebook, touch screen is now "natural".However, Apple has stubbornly denied the adoption on MacBook, with only the iPad installed on the touch screen.John Tanas, a senior vice president (SVP) in the Apple's hardware engineering category, told the WSJ:
We have realized the world's best touch computer on the iPad.(The iPad is for touch screen) is completely optimized.And the Mac is completely optimized for indirect input.I can't think of a reason to change this.
Touch ID is more convenient for laptops
ではFace IDはどうでしょうか。新型MacBook Proのディスプレイに設けられた「ノッチ」は、Face ID搭載の兆しのようにも見えます。 しかしAppleはノートPC（MacBook）のフォームファクタには、Face IDよりもTouch IDのほうが適していると考えているようです。 AppleのMacおよびiPad製品マーケティング部門VPのトム・ボウガー氏はインタビューにおいて「ノートPCではすでに手がキーボード上にあるため、Touch IDのほうが便利だ」と語っています。 なおMacBookについては防水機能を加える計画はないそうです。
